Carta à ESPN

Ilustríssimo Senhor Presidente da ESPN Internacional,

 

Como assinantes do canal a cabo ESPN BRASIL, pertencente a este grupo, vimos informar-lhe acerca de graves fatos ocorridos durante o último mês de dezembro de 2013 e janeiro de 2014.

 

Alguns apresentadores/comentaristas esportivos de futebol dessa emissora (ESPN BRASIL), podendo-se elencar os senhores Antero Greco, Mauro Cézar Pereira e Márcio Guedes, de forma leviana e irresponsável, vêm, reiteradamente, vinculando o nome do clube de futebol profissional brasileiro, FLUMINENSE FOOTBALL CLUB, a manobras antidesportivas ocorridas nos anos 1990 e, recentemente, por ocasião do julgamento de outras duas agremiações futebolísticas por irregularidades que afrontaram a regra da última competição do futebol nacional.

 

Como se sabe, o canal ESPN BRASIL é referência do desporto nacional, constituindo-se importante veículo de comunicação e formador de opinião no âmbito do esporte brasileiro, notadamente o futebol.

 

Os senhores funcionários do canal acima indicados, assim, transmitem ao público assinante opiniões baseadas em preceitos sabidamente inveridicos de que o clube de futebol FLUMINENSE FOOTBALL CLUB estaria envolvido em episódios de manipulações indevidas das regras das competições futebolísticas, episódios esses conhecidos vulgarmente por termos pejorativos, como "tapetão" ou "virada de mesa".

 

Tais afirmações são lançadas ao público de forma leviana, pois é fato notório que o Fluminense Football Club jamais articulou qualquer manobra, de forma direta ou indireta, que o impedisse de cumprir as determinações gerais das competições, especialmente quanto ao descenso em razão de critérios técnicos pré-estabelecidos.

 

Essas informações também apresentam evidente viés de irresponsabilidade, uma vez que induzem a opinião pública majoritária a acreditar que o Fluminense Football Club é contumaz em práticas escusas dessa natureza, transformando-o, injustamente, em verdadeiro vilão do futebol brasileiro.

 

As inverdades propagadas por esses profissionais de imprensa maculam a imagem do citado clube nacional e internacionalmente e, inclusive, provocam, por parte de torcedores rivais, reações de violência física e moral contra os fãs do Fluminense Football Club pelas ruas das cidades brasileiras, fato este amplamente divulgado pela imprensa especializada nacional.

 

Assim, a fim de defender o centenário nome da instituição Fluminense Football de Club, preservando-o de acusações infundadas, inverídicas e irresponsáveis, bem como a integridade física e moral de seus fãs em todo o Brasil, os abaixo assinados, torcedores do Fluminense Football Club e assinantes do Canal por assinatura ESPN Brasil, vêm solicitar a Vossa Senhoria que os profissionais acima indicados se abstenham de vincular o nome Fluminense a qualquer termo pejorativo indicativo de manobras escusas no futebol brasileiro, bem como a relacioná-lo a qualquer atividade direta ou indireta de manipulação das regras pré-estipuladas das competições desportivas das quais participou.

Some sports presenters / commentators who work for the ESPN group ( ESPN BRAZIL ), we can mention the following people Antero Greco, Mauro Cézar Pereira e Márcio Guedes, so frivolous and irresponsibly, have repeatedly been linking the name of the Brazilian professional football club, Fluminense Football Club, to illegal maneuvers occurred in the 1990s and, recently, on the occasion of the trial of two other football associations for irregularities that go against the rule of the last competition of national football.

 

As it’s wide known, ESPN BRAZIL is an important reference in the national sport, and, mainly, important means of communication and opinion in sports in Brazil, especially football. So, the staff of the channel mentioned above, transmit, to the public subscriber, opinions based on knowingly untrue precepts that the soccer club Fluminense Football Club would be involved in episodes of tampering rules of soccer competitions, commonly known by episodes such pejorative terms, as "off the field actions" or "a decision from the bench ".

 

Such statements are released to the public in a wrong and malicious form as it is a notorious fact that Fluminense Football Club has never articulated any operation, directly or indirectly, to prevent it from obeying the general determinations of competitions, especially when it comes to the relegation and all criteria have been fullfilled by the club.

 

These pieces of information also show evident irresponsibility, since they induce the majority of the public opinion to believe that Fluminense Football Club behaves this bad way over and over again, transforming it, unfairly, in the true villain of the Brazilian football . The lies propagated by these media professionals tarnish the image of the club nationally and internationally, and have been even causing, by rival fans, reactions of physical and moral violence against fans of Fluminense Football Club through the streets across many Brazilian cities, a fact widely reported by the national press.

 

Thus, in order to defend the centenary institution name Fluminense Football Club, preserving it from unfounded, untrue and irresponsible accusations as well as the physical and moral integrity of its fans throughout Brazil, the undersigned Fluminense Football Club fans and subscribers of ESPN BRASIL cable channel, come to ask you that the professionals listed above refrain from linking the name Fluminense any pejorative term linked to schemes in Brazilian football, as well as relate it to any direct or indirect manipulation of the activity of pre-stated rules of competitions sports that the CLUB participated.
